Gallaher Senior Living Memory Care Approach

Memory care is the heartbeat of our community. It advocates and cares for those residents who may not be able to speak for themselves, and in turn requires the most attentive and caring staff and programming. Our memory care program is customized to the cognitive abilities of our residents and provides a variety of amenities and spaces within their specialized community. We provide beautiful, comfortable spaces where residents can find joy and comfort in staying active, partake in nutritious meals and experience connection with other residents, staff and nature.

Activities & Engagement

Activities and engagement are planned throughout the day. Activities are offered based on resident’s current and past interests and experiences, many times sparking memory and enjoyment from their past accomplishments and careers. Residents are encouraged to participate in ways that are suitable for each of them.

Some examples of these include:

  • Opportunities to be physically active through the staff guided walking group or other staff led group activities.

  • Listen to, singalong with, dance, or reminisce about music from their past.

  • Plant in, wander among and enjoy the garden.

  • Complete a flower arrangement or painting of flowers through the art program.

  • Work with tools at the workbench.

Dining in Memory Care

Meals are shared together, and options are offered throughout the day, encouraging residents to exercise choice and preference to the degree appropriate. Hydration is a focus throughout the day and snacks are available at all times.

Our Memory Care residents meals are prepared in the community state of the art kitchen with health needs, variety, flavor and presentation each important to ensuring a nutritious and enjoyable meal experience.
